The Island

Muhu Island &
Võiküla village

Muhu is Estonia's third-largest island — a place where time itself comes to rest. With 8,000 years of history, it sits on the ancient Silver-White Route where Vikings, merchants, and fortune seekers once sailed between two Baltic straits. Today, the island remains one of Europe's best-kept secrets: juniper-covered meadows, 65 documented sacred sites, and the only traditional windmills in Estonia still turning.

Võiküla is one of Muhu's ancient villages, known for its cobblestone road built during the First World War and the surrounding alvar grasslands — a rare limestone habitat found nowhere else in the world. Kadakamarja lies between the Muhu Nature Park and Võiküla village, along a 3.5 km old paved stone road from the Kuivastu ferry port.
